Linda applying her favorite organic wildcrafted face oil for glowing skinThis is the face oil I reach for every day—it hydrates, softens, and works beautifully for facial massage too.

Face oils have been part of my routine for years — especially once my skin started changing and needed a little more than just a cream.

When you use the right ones, they don’t feel greasy or heavy. They sink in, help skin look softer and smoother, and give that healthy, natural glow.

I try to choose oils made with wildcrafted and organic ingredients, without fillers or synthetic fragrance — just oils that feel good on my face and work well for hydration, glow, and massage.

What makes a face oil clean and glow-friendly?

Not all oils are created equal. A true clean beauty face oil should be:

  • Made from organic or wildcrafted ingredients
  • Free from synthetic fragrances, silicones, or preservatives
  • Less likely to clog pores (everyone's skin is different)
  • Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids

Clean oils absorb easily, balance skin, and support a naturally radiant look—especially as our skin gets drier with age.

Why mature skin loves face oils

After 40, our skin produces less oil, which can lead to:

  • Dullness or rough texture
  • Dry patches
  • More visible fine lines

Face oils help restore glow by locking in moisture, supporting elasticity, and boosting suppleness. And when the formula is clean? Even better for sensitive or reactive skin.

If you’re brand new to using oils on your face, my face oils guide for beginners walks through how to choose an oil, how much to use, and how to avoid breakouts.

Top clean beauty oils that boost glow

Here are glow-boosting oils that work beautifully on mature skin:

  1. Chia Seed Oil:  Lightweight but nourishing. I reach for this when my skin feels tight but I don’t want shine.
  2. Goji Berry Seed Oil: Good when my skin looks dull. I don’t use it daily — more of a “my face needs a boost” oil.
  3. Broccoli Seed Oil: YES! Broccoli oil! This one surprises people. It gives that silky slip without feeling greasy. I like it under makeup.
  4. Sea Buckthorn Oil: Very potent and very pigmented. I use this sparingly at night — not during the day.
  5. Jojoba Oil:  My beginner pick. It’s closest to our natural oils and hard to mess up.

Want a shortcut? Annmarie’s Anti-Aging Facial Oil blends chia, goji, and broccoli seed oils for a luxe, glow-friendly formula that checks every clean beauty box.

How to apply face oil for best glow

For that fresh, lit-from-within look I like to do this:

  1. Start with clean skin
  2. Apply toner and serum first
  3. Warm 2–4 drops of oil in your palms
  4. Gently press (not rub) into your face and neck

This is a great oil to use before face massage or facial exercises. For face massage, use enough to glide your hands easily.

But if you’re doing face exercises, just use a drop—you need a little grip so your fingers don’t slide around. That way, you can apply enough pressure to actually work the muscles.

Optional: Use it with a facial massage tool (like a gua sha and on some days the kansa wand) to enhance circulation and glow.

Final thoughts

I’m not into piling on highlighter creams or glow drops that just fake healthy skin. I’d rather use something that actually helps my skin look and feel better.

One clean face oil I really like comes in a trail set so you can try without committing (plus a gift and free shipping).

If you’re new to face oils or worried about breakouts, start with a lightweight blend and apply it at night. Your skin will thank you by morning.
